Brinell Hardness Testing Machines
(Model : AKB-3000-N)
We are Manufacturer, Supplier, Exporter of Brinell Hardness Testing Machines, Brinell Hardness Testers and our set up is situated in Sangli, Maharashtra, India.
- Semi-Automatic Brinell Hardness Testing machine is designed for Brinell hardness measurement on steel & other ferrous materials &also on non-ferrous materials like Brass, Bronze, Aluminium, etc. The material can be cast, forged or rolled & the shape can be flat, round or irregular.
- This machine is specially used in production testing. Its stability & unique design of a floating fulcrum lever system ensure high accuracy & dependability.
- Operation of the machine is by push buttons. Operation cycle is fully automatic with adjustable load holding time.
- The load application system is of dead weight type combined with mechanical lever system. The supporting hydraulic system is forinitiallifting of load before each test & damping the load application system for smooth application of load.
- Test loads from 500 to 3000 kgf in steps of 250 kgf.
- Test height x Throat is 380 x 200 mm.
Brinell Hardness Testing Machine
The Brinell Hardness Test technique is the greatest usually used hardness measurement technique in the industry. In the Brinell Hardness Testing, the hardness of a metal is determined by measuring the enduring indentation size produced by an indenter. Harder resources will make shallow indentations while the softer supplies will produce deeper indentations. The hardness of a material is its capacity to resist contained enduring distortion, diffusion, scratching, or indentation. So, it is a significant parameter in manufacturing. Hardness Testing provides a means to count the hardness of a material and it is a key element in many excellence control techniques and R&D work. Several methods are available for hardness testing. However, Brinell, Rockwell, Vickers, Knoop, Mohs, Scleroscope, and the files test are the greatest widely used hardness tests. In this article, we will study about Brinell Hardness Test, its procedure, related formula, and values.
The Brinell scale typifies the indentation hardness of materials through the scale penetration of an indenter, loaded on a material test piece. Whether you need bench-mounted testers, large-scale floor-mounted testers, or dedicated testers that are integrated into your production lines, we can help you with your request.
Brinell Hardness Test Procedure
The Brinell Hardness test is implemented in a Brinell hardness test unit. In this test technique, a predetermined force (F) is applied to a tungsten carbide ball of fixed diameter (D) and held for a predetermined time period, and then removed. The spherical indenter makes an imprint (permanent deformation) on the examination metal part. This indentation is measured crossways two or more widths and then averaged to get the indentation diameter (d). Using this hollow size (d) Brinell Hardness Number (BHN) is found using a chart or intended using the Brinell hardness test formula. The equipment used for Brinell Hardness Testing are:
- Brinell Hardness Testing Machine
- Indenter Sphere, and
- Brinell microscope to measure the made impression.
Standards for Brinell Hardness Test
- ASTM E10
- ISO 6506
- JIS Z 2243
advantages:
- The hardness of uneven samples can be measured which is difficult in additional methods.
- Use of high test load (up to 3,000 Kg) is possible.
- Wide measuring range due to obtainability of a variety of indenter sizes and loads
- A Brinell hardness tester can determine the hardness of all types of metals.
- Offers reliable consequences.
- However, Brinell test method has some difficulties as well:
- There could be measuring errors due to using of optical instruments.
- Surface imperfections can interfere with the test result if the surface not prepared thoroughly.
- The requirement of a flat surface makes this test redundant for cylindrical surfaces.
Features:
- TEST LOADS: from 10 to 3000 kgf (From 98,07 to 29421 N)
- Easy and fast automatic measurements
- Load forces are applied through load cells and electronically controlled in “Closed Loop” with a frequency of 1 kHz, assuring perfect linearity in every range. Range from 10 to 3000 Kgf
- Perfect consequences are assured even with oiled, dusty, or dirty pieces
- The measuring head with indenter has a vertical stroke of 30m
- Elevating screw stroke: 150 mm (Removing the elevating screw, the vertical capacity increase to 300 mm for large samples)al stroke of 30m
- Load accuracy: Better than 0.05 %
- The vertically sliding chromed spindle offers steady provision for the specimen
- Perform reliable tests even on multilevel or misaligned sample surfaces
